As it is the last Friday of the month it is time for some light jazz and show tunes. Well-known trumpet virtuouso, Michael Blake, accompanied by talented jazz pianist Alan Cameron, will amaze you with their talent and repertoire. Michael has played all over the world and it is a privilege to watch a musician of his calibre perform.

Michael and Alan are so skilled that it is a delight not only to listen to them but also to watch them play.

Michael received his Doctorate in Music from the University of Iowa in 1981. Earlier degrees came from Oklahoma and Northwestern Universities. For ten years he was Principal Trumpet for the Nurnberg Philharmonic Orchestra, during which time he also played with the Bamberg Symphony, Munich Philharmonic Suisse Romande and numerous radio orchestras. Since joining the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra in 1986 he has been the featured soloist several times.

Alan is a South African jazz pianist of note as well as an accomplished composer and sound man. He is known for the broad range of his repertoire and plays regularly in and around Cape Town.

They’ll be playing from 6pm on Friday 29th August. Book now to avoid disappointment.
