We are thrilled to announce that we won the “Best Seafood Dish made with Hake” in the first ever Hermanus Fynarts Culinary Challenge. We are so proud of our chef and staff. Thank you to all who voted for us!  Whether an exotic twist on an old favorite, or their own personal creations, chefs participating in the Fynarts Culinary Challenge entered in one, or both, of the following categories: Seafood dish made with Hake Speciality or dessert made using Cape Honey For the month of May, the dishes entered into the FynArts Culinary Challenge were on the menu at the participating restaurants. Patrons participated by tasting the dishes and filling in the evaluation provided by Hermanus Tourism. Their votes contributed 50% to the final scores. During the ten-days of FynArts, a panel of three professional chefs did the final judging. We promised it would be an Indian Summer all winter at Dutchies – and it is! We’ve been having great quiz evenings; creating hearty stews, curries and broths and we’re turning up the heat with some jazz…and a talent competition! Escape the winter cold and join us for food and entertainment that will warm you from the inside out!  Thursdays are particularly cosy thanks to our Quiz Nights. We keep the fire stoked and make a delicious soup or stew, served with melt-in-your-mouth bread for you to enjoy while you test your knowledge against other teams.   This week (29 May) we have Bruin Bonensop and a pork curry that are sure to do the trick. There  are of course be prizes…perhaps even a booby prize or two! You can collect points over the next 10 weeks and there will be a grand prize for the team that collects the most points overall.
