As it is the last Friday of the month it is time for some light jazz and show tunes. Well-known trumpet virtuouso, Michael Blake, accompanied by talented jazz pianist Alan Cameron, will amaze you with their talent and repertoire. Michael has played all over the world and it is a privilege to watch a musician of his calibre perform. Michael and Alan are so skilled that it is a delight not only to listen to them but also to watch them play. Michael received his Doctorate in Music from the University of Iowa in 1981. Earlier degrees came from Oklahoma and Northwestern Universities. For ten years he was Principal Trumpet for the Nurnberg Philharmonic Orchestra, during which time he also played with the Bamberg Symphony, Munich Philharmonic Suisse Romande and numerous radio orchestras. Since joining the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra in 1986 he has been the featured soloist several times. Alan is a South African jazz pianist of note as well as an accomplished composer and sound man. Join us for sun downers and an early dinner whilst listening to this popular instrumental ensemble who are passionate about performing and sharing their music.  Palm Strings is an instrumental ensemble that has a broad repertoire that allows them to adapt to provide music appropriate for every function. The play with an energy, refinement and sensitivity that makes them one of the most sought after groups in the Western Cape.
