Hieperdepiep Hoera!!

Posted on Oct 28, 2015

Excitement always mounts as we move closer and closer to Summer at Dutchies. It is an absolute treat to come to work right on the beach when the days are balmy. All our locals are out and about enjoying the beach, the surf, the dunes, the cliff paths and sunsets. We also love this time of year because our patrons tend to “pop in” more to enjoy tea, sundowners and milkshakes. In between serving our patrons we’re hard at work planning for the busy Summer season and our Christmas and New Year celebrations. Even though the festive menus have only just been finalised we already have many bookings – so please be sure to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment! It is the last week of the month which means Live Music on Friday! Palm Strings will be performing from 6pm. Hieperdepiep Hoera!!! Summer is on it’s way! We’re so looking forward to seeing new and familiar faces...

Well, it’s time to start the whale celebrations! The Hermanus Whale Fringe Festival starts next week and runs until the 11th of October. There is much to see, do and experience including a performance by your favourite musical maestros, Palm Strings, at Dutchies on Friday 25th September. It is the Fernkloof Flower Festival from 24th-27th September, and then, the world renowned Hermanus Whale Festival from 2-4 October. Have you sent us your suggestion for the naming of our new Summer cocktail yet? We’ve had a couple of great suggestions and will be announcing the name on Tuesday 22nd September. Please go and make your suggestion or vote for which one you think is the best so far. 22nd September is also Prinsjes Dag and, in the Dutch tradition, we’ll be serving desserts fit for royalty. Please remember that De Tafel van de Chef is fully booked this month so please book now for October to avoid disappointment. Looking forward to seeing you all enjoying the Spring season, the festival, the whales and wonderful...
